The typical drainage system used in residential foundation construction is a combination of a pea-gravel drainage layer with a drain tile or perforated PVC pipe, hopefully wrapped with a geotextile. However, small soil particles can migrate into the drainage path and reduce the capacity of the system to drain ground water.
With reduced drainage capacity, water pressure builds and eventually moisture penetrates the foundation wall. In addition, the cost of the stone, labor and equipment can be expensive.
An excellent and cost-effective solution is engineered, prefabricated foundation drainage panels like US Fabrics'
J-Drain product line. J-DRain prefabricated drainage systems (PDS) consist of two parts: a geotextile filter fabric and a molded plastic core or "dimple board".

Geotextile filter fabrics provide outstanding water flow while restricting the migration of soil particles into the drainage system. The core is made of high strength plastic that withstands the pressure of the backfill and the stress of installation.
J-Drain panels provide an unobstructed path from surface grade to footing drain. Compared to traditional basement foundation systems, J-DRains cost less, install faster and work better!
