The dirt flooring of equine stalls is problematic. Ruts and holes develop that require frequent repairing and re-leveling. Additionally, the bedding gets contaminated with soil, mud and urine. Some equine mats help reduce the intrusion of dirt and mud into the bedding, but they do not allow urine to pass through. As a result, the urine soaked bedding needs to removed and replaced frequently. Other products, while effective, are expensive.

US Fabrics' Stall Mat™ geotextile is a low cost, lighter weight and permeable alternative to rubber mats and other types of stall flooring. Since Stall Mat™ geotextile is permeable, urine will pass through and your stall will be drier and cozier for your animals. Additionally, dust will be reduced.
Stall Mat™ geotextile is a tough material with high tensile strength, yet is light and easy to install. Stall Mat™ comes in a 15' x 150' roll that can be cut down to fit almost any stall size. A 15' x 15' single panel size is also available.
The use of batten strips or a 1' x 4' helps to attach the Stall Mat™ to the sides of the stall and hold it in place. The stall can then be successfully cleaned without losing any of the base material or the mat shifting. A simple application of a disinfectant and water in heavily soiled areas can help reduce the ammonia smell.
To maintain the integrity of your tough Stall Mat™ geotextile, make sure you have a good drainage system under your stall and use a minimum of 6"-8" of bedding. US Fabrics' geotextile experts can offer several options for drainage.
