CONNDOT
The State of Connecticut DOT geotextile standards are extremely antiquated. They reference AASHTO M288 in the QPL. It states: “The categories listed are in accordance with the AASHTO M 288 specification,” but the Qualified Products List appears to follow the 1992 version of AASHTO M288. This version is no longer in effect. The list shows a woven slit-film separation geotextile as permitted for subsurface drainage. US Fabrics does not recommend woven slit-film geotextiles for this application, nor does the current version of AASHTO M 288. The Qualified Products List also includes numerous companies no longer in existence and geotextile products no longer being manufactured. On March 2006 US Fabrics submitted their full-line for evaluation and inclusion on the Connecticut DOT Qualified Products List. Approval is STILL pending.
As such, we are recommending our geotextile products based on the CURRENT addition of AASHTO M288. Please contact US Fabrics directly if you require a product approved for use in Connecticut by CONNDOT.
