Woven Ground Cover Geotextiles

Woven ground cover geotextiles are an excellent, chemical free alternative to mulch. Unlike most woven geotextiles, woven ground cover has much higher UV protection and is designed to be left exposed. Depending on conditions, they will typically last several years uncovered.

Woven ground cover fabrics effectively control weed growth in gardens, landscaping, greenhouses, nurseries and agricultural fields. While they block sunlight to control weed germination, ground cover fabrics still allow water and air to reach the soil beneath. As such, they help the soil remain healthy. Additionally, woven ground cover contains colored lines to give you a marker for your planting rows.

Installation is as easy as unrolling the fabric over the soil and using a razor knife, garden shears or seat belt cutter to cut it to the desired length and width. Overlaps are minimal (3-6 inches). It is always best to remove existing weeds before installing the ground cover geotextile. Apply a herbicide or lightly till the area and then place the fabric. If that is not a good option, then you should at least mow the area or use a string trimmer to remove the weeds as best as possible.
