SDDOT specifications are based on AASHTO M-288 guidelines.

Currently US 205NW is the only product listed on the Approved Products List and the remaining products listed in table below are offered as a guideline only.

Below are US Fabric's geotextile products that meet the South Dakota DOT geotextile specification, listed by their application.

IF THE TYPE OF FABRIC TO BE USED IS NOT SPECIFIED, DRAINAGE FABRIC TYPE B SHALL BE USED.

(a) South Dakota DOT specifies test method ASTM-D4595 Wide Width Tensile for nonwoven geotextiles. The industry standard for nonwoven geotextiles is ASTM-D4632 Tensile Strength and they are not tested for Wide Width Tensile. As such, we can only try to best interpret which products they intended to specify.
