Geotextiles & DOT Specifications

JAN 2018

NCDOT

US FABRICS GEOTEXTILES ARE ON THE NORTH CAROLINA DOT APPROVED PRODUCTS LIST FOR TYPES 1,2 & 4. US SWD GEOCOMPOSITE IS NOT ON THE LIST. US FABRICS IS ALSO NTPEP/AASHTO COMPLIANT.

The 2012 North Carolina geotextile Specifications reads: "Use geotextile fabrics that meet Article 4.1 of AASHTO M 288 and have been evaluated by NTPEP. Use prefabricated geocomposite drain strips consisting of a non-woven polypropylene geotextile bonded to one side of a high density polyethylene or polystyrene drainage core, e.g., sheet drain."

To be approved: "All Geotextile prime manufacturers and private labeler suppliers submitting Geotextiles for possible inclusion on the APL must maintain a current NTPEP audit status of “Compliant” as shown in NTPEP’s list of participating Geotextile manufacturers." They also require that "Geotextile products must meet Article 4.1 of AASHTO M 288 and shall meet or exceed the NCDOT Geotextile material requirements."

However, these specifications include non-AASHTO M-288 products.

Below are US Fabric's geotextile products that meet both the 2012 North Carolina DOT geotextile specifications and/or AASHTO, listed by their application.
